Trip to Clarkston, GA!

LIFE UPDATE: Mission Trip!

Hello everyone my name is Kylie Sparks and I have been blessed by being able to go to Clarkston, GA for a mission trip!

About the trip:

Me and others from ETSU will be traveling to Clarkston to help serve the refugees of the area! We will be serving the community and giving back to the people and children in need! This Atlanta suburb is one of the most diverse communities in America. Nearly 70% of the population is foreign-born, representing more than 50 countries with more than 100 distinct ethnic groups- all living within 1.4 square miles. This provides tremendous opportunities for churches and individuals to invest in the residents of this community. It’s like a cross-cultural mission trip, just hours from home!

I am so excited to go on this trip from March 9th-15th, 2024. It will be an immersive experience at the Send Relief Ministry Center. We will engage in the community in different ways such as refuge ministry, apartment outreach, food pantry ministry, after- school programs, sports ministry, prayer walking, and serving however needed. We will also have training to learn how to better engage with international and refugee communities.

Cost:

The cost of this trip is $500. This goes toward our housing, transportation, food, and the cost associated with the organization, Send Relief, who will coordinate our service opportunity!

Israel update:

I will no longer be traveling to Israel because of the war that is taking place currently. I decided it was best to not go on that trip for my safety! Thank you for being flexible!
