flo.pure: Clean Water to Families in Tents
Donation protected
Our team is actively providing clean water to regions across Gaza facing severe shortages.
The ongoing devastation of Gaza’s water systems, combined with extreme shortages of gasoline, fuel, and water treatment supplies, has limited access to clean water. Many families are now forced to drink contaminated or seawater. “Children are drinking from puddles and waddling through sewage,” The CNN reports. The UN and WHO documented nearly 40,000 cases of hepatitis, 65,000 cases of skin rashes, and over 103,000 cases of scabies and lice between October and July, highlighting the need for immediate intervention.
Who is Flo.Pure?
Our primary goal is to provide immediate relief through clean water distribution.
We distribute clean water at several locations: North Gaza, two sites in Khan Younis, one in Zawaidah, and a mobile location in Deir el Balah, due to ongoing displacement.
How do we transport water across borders?
We don't; our drivers fill tanks at local water plants in each distribution area. The demand far exceeds the factories’ capacity, so maintaining a continuous contract is essential to ensure our trucks receive water.
The process is lengthy and challenging. Our drivers often line up at 5 a.m. but may not reach us at the distribution location until 11 a.m. Each morning, children line up with containers almost as large as themselves and carry water back to their families, returning daily for their next supply.
How many people do we serve water to each day?
About 1,000 to 1,200 families, totaling around 5,000 to 6,000 individuals.
How much does it cost?
The daily cost of water at our five sites totals $800, amounting to $24,000 each month to keep the water flowing. We need $30,000 to add one more site, which we hope to establish soon. Be our partner in this effort.
Your donation provides not just water but hope and dignity to families who have lost so much. Every contribution supports our efforts. Funds raised through GoFundMe are transferred directly to our team in Gaza.
To support and entertain the children who come for water, we invited them to share their voices through drawings. You can order a copy of their artwork at Hands that Can't Hold
