Jackson is in the midst of a WATER CRISIS.

Jackson MS has been under a city-wide boil water advisory for over 4 weeks.

In the last sixteen months, residents have suffered through five major water events: the freeze of February 2021, the power panel fire in April 2021, the misdosing of chemicals in November 2021, the ammonia leak/membrane train failure of June 2022, and now, this crisis is one of the unsafe levels of solids in the treated water which can carry bacteria and parasites to the taps of homes and workplaces.

Record rainfall and flash floods in Mississippi have stranded residents, washed away roads, and derailed a train this week. The city of Jackson picked up more than five inches of rain this month, setting a record as the wettest August day that the city has ever experienced.
