Coming Together to Help the Solis Family

Hi friends and family! My name is Monika and I am starting this fundraiser to help support my big brother John and his beautiful family. Many of you have been following his battle with health issues. A month ago, he was admitted to ICU with severe respiratory issues from Covid. By the grace of God our family was granted a miracle. He was able to return home to his loving wife Cheryl and their children and grandchildren. Although he was home, he still relied on oxygen 24 hours a day and the simplest tasks left him winded and weak. He was home for 10 days but due to dropping o2 levels, even with his oxygen, he was readmitted to ICU. Within just a few days, John's Dr's felt it was in his best interest to intubate him to allow his body time to rest and heal. Unfortunately his body is very tired and on top of all efforts, he is not resting, which is not aiding his healing. His lungs are 90% full of fluid & severe inflammation; he has a pneumothorax which has required a chest tube; an NG tube has been placed for nutrition; he is fighting severe pneumonia; his numbers are just not improving. Last night he was transferred to a larger hospital in Tulsa. The Dr called after his arrival and although his transfer went well, the road to recovery will be an extremely long and difficult process. He advised us that if he comes out of this, it could take up to 18 months for John's lungs to heal and for him to regain strength.

Anyone that knows the Solis' know that family is EVERYTHING. John is the provider for his family. He has always worked so hard to take care of them. His wife Cheryl of almost 30 years has her own health issues. She suffers from MS and seizures, which does not allow her to work outside of the home. She is the most genuine woman I have ever met. She has given every ounce of herself to care for not only her husband, but to their 6 children growing up. This time is very stressful and emotional. A time where John and Cheryl should be growing old together, watching their 7 grandchildren play, cuddling on the couch watching movies, living their goals and dreams, but instead she is watching the love of her life fight for his.

All of the prayers and love have been felt and embraced. I'm asking if you are in a position financially to help, please do so. The proceeds from this will help the Solis' with medical bills, monthly expenses, and the comfort of knowing final expenses can be covered if needed.
