Astoria Cookouts: BBQ & Movie Nights on 31st Ave Open Street

Gathering and connecting with neighbors in real life is critical to both individual well-being and the strength of a community. That’s exactly what the Community Cookout Series is all about.

But we need your help to make it happen again this year. We’re asking for donations of $10 or more to help bring these events to life.

Organized by Tikkun BBQ & owner Eli Goldman, hosted by 31st Ave Open Street, and supported by Astoria Horror Club, the 2025 series will feature four events, each with free BBQ, plus free movie screenings by Astoria Horror Club at the last three.

Community Cookout Dates:

All events will take place on 31st Ave Open Street.

Each cookout will feature vegan and Kosher/Halal options to ensure everyone feels welcome. While tipping is always appreciated, the food will be 100% free until supplies run out.

At a time when divisions feel sharper than ever, bringing hundreds of people together—at no cost, with no barriers—feels more important than ever. Study after study shows that real-life connections strengthen communities and the well-being of individuals.
