Pitching in for WMU Students

Fox 17 Online News Coverage

As an aspiring nonprofit organization with the goal of helping students and anyone in need, we are committed to never saying "No" to an issue that someone might face.

Due to the unprecedented situation with COVID-19, many students and staff at Western Michigan University (WMU) located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, have lost their jobs as early as in April 2020. They were left without a reliable source of income which initially allowed them to afford daily needs such as groceries, hygiene products, and the payment of bills. Especially the international student community has been affected as many students were relying on on-campus employment. Most of them are still not able to return to their home countries due to border closures which were enforced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We as an organization initially led by Dr. Michael Famiano from the WMU Physics Department have been organizing grocery giveaways almost daily in several locations around Kalamazoo with the help of generous donations. Additionally, we have been helping over 100 students to pay their monthly apartment rents, all with the help of private and grant donations.

As we are eager to keep the organization running and to help as many students, staff, and others in need as we can, we hope that you can provide us with financial support to help our organization succeed within the upcoming months.
