Cordelia’s 'Together for Tomorrow' treatment fund

Meet Cordelia: incredible mother, fearless warrior, and passionate advocate for cancer patients. At just 36 years old in 2018, she received the devastating news that she had stage 4 brain cancer. Cordelia underwent life-threatening brain surgery, enduring gruelling rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and pioneering treatments abroad her family borrowed money to afford.
Defying all odds, Cordelia triumphed over this aggressive form of cancer called Glioblastoma (GBM) not once, but twice, surprising her doctors by staying tumour-free for 4 years when statistics said she had just 12-18 months. Her fighting spirit and unwavering positivity have been her greatest strengths.
Cancer isn’t rare, but the way Cordelia has handled it has been. She was determined to shine through this illness and radiate joy, forming a warrior tribe around her. She has never let the cancer beat her determination for living and instead has turned her experience into a force for good.
Unfortunately, Cordelia recently received heartbreaking news: The cancer has returned for a third time, far more aggressive than ever. This time, the new, large tumour is inoperable, and the standard treatment plan is limited to just palliative chemotherapy. It's a devastating blow for Cordelia, her family and all who love her.
Cordelia's love for her 7-year-old daughter, Loli, and her deep desire to see her grow up, have been her driving forces throughout this journey. With boundless energy and an infectious zest for life, Cordelia has touched the hearts of those around her.
Her impact goes beyond her own battle with cancer. In 2021, after 3 years of informally helping many and any cancer patient who contacted her, she saw how desperately people needed support and co-founded a cancer navigation company - Act Above & Beyond to help others facing similar challenges, dedicating her life to making their journeys easier and finding safe options when they were told there were none.
Now it's our turn to rally behind Cordelia. We are raising funds to provide her with life-extending treatment, enabling her to continue her vital work and have more days to spend with her daughter growing up. Cordelia has given so much to others, and now she needs our support.
With the aggression that this recurrence has shown, we don’t have time to waste.
The best chance Cordelia currently has is to have a biopsy that can then potentially open the door to other targeted treatments based on genomically sequencing this new tumour. Cordelia will have to self-fund it all.
Currently, we don’t know how much she will need as everything depends on what options there are following the biopsies. But we do know that they can get very expensive, very quickly.
This is on top of the £100,000 her family spent previously for the pioneering immunotherapy treatment she initially had in Germany. It gave her another 5 years to not just stay alive but get to know her then 2-year-old daughter, making core memories and passing on her life essence of love, bravery, fun and adventures.
Imagine what even more could do towards halting the cancer's growth.
Any funds raised are first and foremost about keeping Cordelia alive. With Cordelia’s wishes, however, we want to make sure her daughter has the right support to get through this. Beyond that, Cordelia is still passionate to continue to help others and shine a light of hope on reframing cancer so it doesn’t mean life is over, just as she’s shown over the last 5 years. Anything raised that goes beyond treatment costs and looking after her daughter, Loli, therefore will go to this legacy, helping many more people.
Her own determined legacy is to make sure her daughter sees that whilst life can be brutal, it’s how you deal with these challenges that will get you through the other side.
Every contribution matters. Your donation can make a difference, no matter how big or small. Join us in spreading the word by sharing this link far and wide. Together, we can help Cordelia to keep changing lives.
Your generosity and support mean the world to Cordelia and her loved ones. Thank you for being a part of her journey. Let's make a difference together.
