Our Vision
Halloween is a special time of year for nearly all children. It is a time to dream and to let imaginations run wild. Whether a child is imagining themselves as a superhero or a princess, a ninja or a monster, one thing is certain…they are having fun and being creative! Enjoying their time as their favorite character is made even better by getting to share that experience with all of their friends. The fun times had during the Halloween season are ones that are remembered for a lifetime.
Unfortunately, every child does not have the opportunity to enjoy the Halloween season. Too often, a child is unable to participate in the festivities because they cannot purchase a costume. To a child, a costume is everything. For children, this is the one day that they can change their world—they can be whoever they want, forgetting their everyday stresses. During the time leading up to October 31st, a child without a costume is surrounded by all of their friends as they talk with excitement about how eager they are to show off their costumes. This is a terrible feeling for the children who know they will not get to dress up with their friends.
The Costume for Kids Campaign will help provide children with costumes during the Halloween season. Having a costume each year is something that many kids take for granted. Unfortunately, some families are unable to provide a costume for their child due to uncontrollable circumstances. In hard times, a costume is understandably not the highest priority for a struggling household. Instead, paying bills to ensure there is food on the table and a roof above their family’s head is their top priority. This is where the Costumes for Kids Campaign wants to help.
Our Mission
It is our mission to provide costumes to children and families in need in our community by partnering with school districts in the St. Louis region.
The donations that are collected through this fund will be used to purchase costumes for these students. The students will be gifted the costume of their choice to wear for this year's Halloween festivities.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause to help make Halloween special for underprivileged families that otherwise might not be able to participate in the Halloween fun this year. Your generosity will help ensure that these children have a truly special experience this Halloween season!
Our Inspiration
The Costumes for Kids Campaign has been established in memory of Chad Luna. Chad lost his life in a car accident in May 2015, but his memory lives on in all that were close to him. To Chad, Halloween was truly a special time a year. It was a time of year when he got to fully express some of his best qualities. Through his costumes, he showed his smarts and creativity. He loved to show off his comical side in some of his most recent costumes. The details were very important to him, and they showed in all of his costumes
Over everything else, Chad knew that his enthusiasm for the season was contagious. His excitement encouraged all of his friends to think about how they could make the most out of Halloween. Every year, Chad would be a reminder that we had a chance to make lifelong memories during Halloween. Between the costumes and the closeness that came during the season, countless memories were made. And that is truly what Chad wanted for everyone.
