ACTIVISTS FOR A FREE PALESTINE -COURT + LEGAL FEES

On July 3rd, 2024, 13 activists who were arrested on May 7 in Woodstock, NY, returned for their court date. The activists arrested were advocating for a Free Palestine and successfully shut down Ametek Rotron (a producer of weapons components) for 9 hours, demanding that the United States stop sending weapons to Israel.

Community members turned up in solidarity on the day of court to support the activists who each faced two violation-level charges for their arrests. The lawyers negotiated a plea deal, and everyone pleaded guilty to trespassing, which “covered” the disorderly conduct charges. The judge ordered everyone arrested to a $100 fine + $125 in court fees and no conditional discharge to be paid by August 2. Please help raise our goal of $4125 by July 29, to cover the costs of recent arrests. It all adds up. Any amount helps. Please spread the word!

This action was in solidarity with a global moment exposing the terror manufactured at facilities such as Ametek Rotron. These actions are collectively drawing attention to the importance of divesting from Israel.

Fundraising Transparency Breakdown:

13 arrested at $225 each = $3475 in fines + $650 for legal fees gets us to our goal of $4125

Prior funds were raised via mutual aid for the aftercare of the May 7th action for those involved. Any funds that are not claimed will be utilized for this fundraiser, and any remaining amount will be paid forward to other local organizing efforts/fiscal needs.
