Help Cynthia Rebuild Her Life

Donation protected
My name is Jacqueline Autry-Brazil and I have served in the military for 16 years currently stationed in Virginia. My family means the world to me so on December 20, 2014 the life that I once knew would no longer be the same. Imagine receiving an early morning phone call that your mother’s home is on fire and you are over a thousand miles away. I have never felt so helpless in my life. Due to my job obligations I was not able to just board a plane and leave. I had to first inform my chain of command of my situation for approval to leave my duty station. My life was shattered and changed with the unfortunate news of my mother’s home being completely destroyed by fire that resulted in the death of my young charismatic nephew Isaac Kwaine Price.

My mother sustained a 26% surface area flame burns and was transported immediately to Parkland Burn Intensive Care Unit, in Dallas, Texas. She is unable to communicate and has been hospitalized in critical condition where she remains on the ventilator. She has had multiple surgeries for her burns and complications related to these burns will continue to be required in the future. Cynthia is a disabled loving devoted mother and grandmother who has lived in Mount Pleasant, Texas all her life and is loved by many. The home that she lived in was a 3 bedroom home given to her by her late parents unfortunately she did not have homeowners insurance and this catastrophe has destroyed everything that she owned. The biggest and most important loss is her beloved grandson whom she was extremely close to. I am not sure if she is aware that he is no longer with us because she is unable to communicate.

Isaac aka (Ike) as he was fondly known by all who loved and adored, was a well mannered soft spoken lovable young man. He was a hard dedicated worker that would help anyone in need. Although he only lived for a brief 19 years he has touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten. Due to her hospitalization my mother was not able to attend his funeral and say goodbye to him. I can only imagine the mental anguish she will endure, but I am hoping that with love and support she will be able to recover not only physically but mentally as well.

Cynthia is on a fixed income and there is no possible way that she will be able to rebuild her life without the help of others. I understand that her road to recovery is going to be a very long and difficult process. I prayerfully believe that with the love and support that has been shown by family, friends and the community we can unite together and help her rebuild her life to ease some of the burden while she goes through this trying time. Should you desire to make a financial contribution, my family and I would forever be grateful.

Sincerely,
Jacqueline Autry-Brazil
