Donation protected

The Douglas County Young Marines (DCYM) is a 501(c)(3) comprised of dedicated boys and girls age 8 through the completion of high school. They have completed a very demanding recruit training program and have graduated to become some of the finest in the nation. The program develops self-discipline, teamwork, leadership and promotes a healthy drug-free lifestyle. It also provides unique opportunities to volunteer in the community, honor our veterans, and build outstanding citizenship traits.

We have an opportunity to participate in the 2015 Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in Hawaii. This trip will be an amazing educational opportunity for our Young Marines. We are seeking donations to help defray the cost of $1,250 per Young Marine to attend this event. Approximately $30,000 total cost. Your donation can make a great impact on funding this trip as well as keeping our regular, year-long activities on going. Throughout the year, DCYM activities include bi-monthly drills with physical fitness and drug demand reduction classes as well as annual recruit training, challenging rope courses, Young Marine Birthday Ball, snow shoe trip and swim qualifications. These activities have earned us the title of 2014 Division 4 Unit of the Year! Funds raised throughout the year also go toward supplies such as guide books, uniforms, ribbons and replacement equipment in support of unit functions.
Can you help us meet our goal of $1,250 per Young Marine or approximately $30,000?
