Darryl + Dan's Secret Escape

Hi everyone,
I'm Darryl and Danielle's sister in law. I have been wanting to do something for them for a while but haven't really known what I can do. After Danielle's heartfelt post on facebook today ("this is me"), John and I did a little brainstorming and thought it would be cool if we can all pitch in to send them on a kid-free weekend away. We are thinking pretty big, something over Darryl's birthday weekend so they don't have to take any time off work and so they get at least 3 nights away. I have set the epic goal of $3K, I know we can do it if we all spread the word (in secret, ha!) so if you do share the campaign on social media, please make sure you exclude Darryl and Danielle so we don't ruin the suprise.
For those that don't know their story, Danielle gave birth to twin girls, Chloe and Emily, in December 2011, at 24+3 weeks. They were extremely premature and their chance at survival was slim. They have both pulled through, however Emily has been left severely disabled, with Cereberal Palsy just one of the many disabilities, and she requires constant around the clock care, does not sleep much and despite her coming a long way, they are not sure if she will ever walk/talk/eat on her own. As you can imagine, this has put a huge amount of stress on Darryl and Danielle as a couple and as parents. Danielle is a stay at home mum and does an incredible job at raising the girls and giving Emily the best possible quality of life. She is an amazing human and although she doesn't show it very often, and she never complains, this life has taken a huge toll on her. They rarely get to do things for themselves, things a regular married couple could do, they can't just call a baby sitter and go out for the night. They have amazing support from both of their parents, and would not have been able to do it without them. Both set of parents have agreed to share the babysitting duties for the mini-break, and anyone else who would like to lend a hand will be most welcome.
I'm sure they would never go for it if we told them about it, so we don't want to give them a choice in the matter. Once we reach the goal, we will book the flights, accommodation and car hire and then present this to them (maybe hold a little get together so everyone can be part of it).
Come on, let's dig deep and give these guys a well deserved break.
