Empower Sam Jarris' Fight for Colorado

Donation protected
As a young, queer member of the disability community, I, Sam Jarris, am honored to be an At-Large DNC Delegate representing the state of Colorado in Chicago this August! That said, getting to Convention won't be easy and I need your help to make sure an intersectional lens has a voice as our party works together to stand up for our Democratic values! Can you please donate to my work as a DNC Delegate?

$5,000 will help me and as a bonus, allow me to support underfunded Delegation members attend.

It has been my honor to serve as an intersectional communities organizer for the last 14 years and to collaborate with some of the most kind, progressive and diverse people to meet the needs of fellow Coloradans.

Coming from Douglas County, young people are chronically underrepresented. We cannot afford to own homes here. Our county is one of the wealthiest in the state, but 2-3 bedroom houses aren't built to meet the affordability needs of our young residents. I am the youngest delegate, from Douglas County by almost 20 years. Of those delegates elected at Congressional District 4, all are Douglas County residents and 100% of those elected represent only 26% of the county's age distribution.

I serve as a Precinct Organizer, and in leadership at the Democratic Education Initiative, Disability Strong Democrats and Colorado Young Democrats. I've also dutifully represented the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition on the Disability Services Advisory Council (DSAC) for the last 2 years. DSAC is the result of HB22-1255, a collaboration with the Colorado Department of Higher Education, the Polis Administration, and Prime Sponsors Rep. Ortiz and Sen. Zenzinger.

With some policy experience, you might ask what's next for me. I want to work with others who are mission-driven collaboratives to continue to serve through an intersectional lens by writing and advocating for new policy and lobbying for our voice to be heard for systemic change. But I can't do that without YOU.

By contributing you'll provide that a lifelong intersectional organizer the support to apply their years of experience to the DNC Disability, Queer and Youth Councils, afford accessible room and board, transportation (flight & ride-share/train), and social activities that can advance an innovative intersectional agenda.

My goal has always accountability to the people of Colorado and to each other. As Delegates we cannot meet the needs of our constituents, our friends and neighbors, if we don't attend the DNC Convention to ensure that our voice is heard.

I appreciate any gift.

With gratitude,

Samuel Jarris
