Help Dani and Family relocate.
Donation protected
I'm a mom in the South that needs to relocate ASAP. My children are at risk.
I'm scared. My daughter is neurodivergent, queer, works in the public and has been targeted time and again.
It's getting worse.
We have some distant family in the Pacific NorthWest. I was born in Oregon and lived in Washington in my youth. We would love to live on or around Vancouver, WA.
I've also lived in Pueblo, Colorado and would be comfortable going there - or anywhere my daughter feels safer and has a supportive queer community nearby.
We would love to land in the PNW or Colorado - we are willing to relocate to any blue state that will have us.
I need to, at very minimum, get my kids out of Florida, for my daughter's physical well-being and ALL of our mental health.
We live just shy of the FL/GA line in NoFlo right now.
Let me introduce us;
Dani. Me. Braden.
We are roommates. We are the closest friends.
I am almost 50, divorced for over 15 years.
I am fully disabled with a degenerative autoimmune disease and co-disorders.
Social Security pays me less than 1300.00 a month. I have been fully disabled since 2019 - prior to that, I worked as an administrative assistant during day hours. Events planner after hours.
Me.
My daughter is a young gay adult woman who happens to be on the autism spectrum.
She is the kindest, most honest young woman you could ever know.
My daughter has worked full-time for WalMart basically since she left highschool. She also tutors special needs children in her spare time. She is able to tudor based on experience and understanding in a way that kids respond to.
Beatrix Kitto. Falkor. Dani (daughter).
My son, the baby, is 21 and also on the spectrum with AuHD. He is introverted but smart and funny. He loves animals and tech and politics.
My son is in logistics and drives forklift for a cold-storage warehouse (subzero temps). USCS
Braden wrapped up in his Sub-Zero suit for work.
A couple weeks ago my daughter was stopped by police because she had a rainbow frame around her license plate.
Two white, male cops approached her vehicle on either side. One cop (younger on the passenger side) kept spitting his chewing tobacco at her front tire. They were intentionally intimidating as they questioned her license plate frame, told her it's illegal and held her up for nearly an hour, all over a plate frame.
The license plate is the ONLY thing she had or did wrong and people drive around with college football frames all the time.
Last night (March 15) my daughter came home from work a total mess.
I should probably mention we are all much taller than we look. I'm the shortest of us - just shy of 6'.
My son is almost 6'6".
My daughter - biologically a female, is over 6'2".
Last night my daughter went to the restroom at her place of employment (WalMart) when a man and woman came in after her - the man was shouting about "tr@nnies in the bathroom". My daughter isn't transgender. She is very big and tall.
There is a common phrase in our area - "if you ever see a 'woman' follow your daughters into the bathroom and that 'woman' is over 6' - shoot first and ask questions later."
In a red state with very loose gun laws - that is a very real threat.
My daughter is big, but she is as sensitive as a middle-schooler, she is very easily intimidated and my kids are very non-confrontational and polite.
We are a team. We come together, with a special needs cat (Beatrix Kitto) and adopted bearded dragon named Falkor.
WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE.
Any bit helps - I cannot post this all over my socials because our community could really turn against us and make living here even more difficult.
So sharing is a gigantic help.
Donating is a giant help.
Suggestions or help finding jobs and/or housing -
SO GRATEFUL.
Please help us. We are surrounded by guns, bigots, racists, red-hats and Confederate flags.
