Gage’s College Fund

Daniel Craig “Danny” Smith, 47, a native of Rutherford County, NC and resident of Summerville, SC passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023.

Danny was born September 1, 1975, son of Mike Smith and Joanne McDaniel. After graduating from East Rutherford High School, Danny served with tremendous pride and honor in the United States Marine Corp. He built a successful career in sales and construction as the General Manager for Clayton Homes. Danny was passionate for the outdoors; hunting, fishing, hanging around a fire with family and coaching his son’s baseball teams. Danny was devoted to family and his faith.

Danny is survived by his one true love, Brandee; greatest accomplishment, son Gage; mother, JoAnne; sister, Mandy; nephew, Logan; and countless uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Mike; nephew Dylan; grandparents, James and Doris McDaniel, Leonard and Annie Sue Smith.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at Danny’s home place in Ellenboro, NC. The outdoor service will be at 294 Slater Drive at 6pm.
