Support the first Photography Festival of Tanzania

Hello, we are Andrew, Mulki and Valentin - the organizers of Dar Foto Festival.

Dar Foto Festival is the first Photography Festival in Tanzania. It aims to give local artists a stage to share important and inspiring stories with the public through photography, to strengthen a local photography community, and create opportunities for artists to further develop.

Two years ago, Andrew organized the first Dar Foto Festival in his living room. In 2024, we want to give more artists the opportunity to showcase their works and create a beautiful festival that attracts a larger audience. Dar Foto 2024 is scheduled from 2 - 4 February 2024 with the theme People, Economy, Change. It will host 5 talented artists with constrating works on social justice of women, urban development, the role of water for local communities, and the role of music and fashion in society. It will also exhibit a number of emerging artists. Several events and photography walks will be organized.

In order to make the festival accessible to everyone, no entrance fee for the exhibitions will be taken, and any other events with limited spaces are promoted at low costs. For that reason, we are looking for kind financial contributions from people who are interested to make the arts accessible and who want to support local artists through this festival. The funds will be used to cover costs for the venue, printing, promotion and logistics.
