Funeral - Darryl McMullen
Donation protected
My name is Rachel. My dad, Darryl McMullen passed away early on Thursday morning, 25 August after a long battle with 2 respiratory illnesses.
Unfortunately, we were unable to get funeral insurance for him while he was still alive as his diagnosis was terminal, and there was no estate to speak of, at his passing.
We would love to give him a dignified burial, and allow those who loved him to say goodbye properly. My mum Marsha, and I have made some plans with Heritage Funerals and have cut some of the funeral costs down by doing some things ourselves, and paying for some things out of our own pockets.
The funeral is on the 8th of September, and we will need to finalise our account with the funeral home 2 weeks after that on the 22nd of September.
The week that Dad passed away he called me, my brother Joel, Marsha our mum (his ex wife), to tell us that he loved us and that he was proud of us. The really awfully sad thing is that none of us were available to take his calls and he left us each a message. By the time we got to the hospital the night before he passed, he was so unwell that he didn't seem to know that we were there, so we didn't get the chance to tell him that we loved him too, that one last time.
This is why it's even more important to us that we honour him by giving him a dignified and respectful 'send off' (as opposed to leaving him to be handled as a destitute persons funeral.)
It would mean so much to us if you could help out in anyway but contributing to our campaign. Even the smallest amount will be greatly appreciated.
