Urgent Home Repairs Needed
Donation protected
Daryl and Laura's mobile home is in need of major repairs. Renting while repairs are made is not an option financially. There are roof issues, water inside the wall, and probably other structural issues. Any help or direction is appreciated. I have numbers for all the typical places you will suggest, but they are unable to provide any type of assistance. I am hoping we can get the roof fixed and stop any future damage, and then take it from there.

Daryl was born with Cerebral Palsy but to him that has never been a disability, it has meant that he has to find a different way to get things done. Although he will never walk on his own, and verbal communication is difficult, he has a job with Goodwill Easter Seals, and recently married the love of his life Laura. No amount is too small, and the need is big.

There are no extra funds for a new wheelchair. Medicaid will not cover a custom chair, but Daryl is unable to sit in a standard chair. The chair must be molded fit his body, and to help support his core so that he can sit upright. His lap top is then mounted to the chair and Daryl uses a head pointer to operate it for work and communication. He has a brilliant mind and has graduated from Bishop State and also from the University of South Alabama. His family does not get any assitance with their housing, vehicle, groceries. We are hosting a fish fry this month with the proceeds being donated for his new chair. Next month, who knows? It's not an option, it's a necessity and we will just keep working toward it until we can make it happen.

My little brother is such an inspiration and a blessing to all that know him. Funny, mischevious, intelligent, a good Christian involved in his church, and wants to be as independent as possible.
Trying to make Daryls' home wheelchair accessible is being done with love and donations by his friends and family. If we happen to exceed our goal for his wheelchair, additional funds will go to making his trailer safer, and more wheelchair friendly. Daryl currently has to go to his parents home to be able to use the bathtub. A table is being built that will collapse to allow him access to the kitchen area.
