My name is Rita Felleh Arah,CEO and founder of “Daughters of Sierra Leone.a non-profit and non-governmental organization registered both in USA and Sierra Leone. We are dedicated to empowering women and young girls with lucrative vocational skills that will enable them to earn a living and be self-sufficient. After learning about the challenges women are experiencing in Africa, it is critical to close the gap for women so they can be productive and financially stable.
Over the years we have distributed relief supplies during Ebola outbreak to Covid-19 pandemic such as hand sanitizers, face mask Veronica Bucket used to wash hands. We also gave lectures sensitizing women on personal hygiene and social distancing. We have also provided bags and school supplies for children. In December 2021 we were able to give food items to support market women and unemployed so they will have food during the festive season.
Through our consistent vocational training projects and entrepreneurship training which we have on-site and online, we have been able to train over 5000 young women that have built businesses and gained employment thereby becoming more financially stable
The Vision of Daughters of Seirra Leone is to have a vocational school where women will have access to equipment and tutors who will train them in various vocational skills such as Fashion designing,Baking, Printing, Computer literacy, computer repairs,Cosmetology and many other courses. Our school will not just teach them but offer services to the public in other to provide employment for our students. The funds from the services provided will ensure that we can execute future projects and continue to empower women for years to come.
Your financial contributions will make this possible because “Together we can!”
