Decker Fund- 3 Homes Gone 1 Family

Donation protected
Three homes gone in 1family.  The Deckers were left without a roof over their heads, vehicles to get around or even basic necessities that we take for granted. I 'm Christin Barousse from Walker, La and the Deckers are my family on my mom, Debbie Bergeron side.  We are asking for monetary donations to help rebuild the homes that were destroyed by the flood in La.  They will use the donations to buy sheetrock, wood, permits and any thing else they need to start work on the homes.  The funds raised will go to Brenda Decker and she will divide it amongst Virginia, Paul, Joey and herself.  Below is a photo of the Decker family.

Virginia Decker (Denham Springs, La), Brenda Decker (Denham Springs, La), Joey Decker (Baton Rouge, La) and Paul Decker (Denham Springs, La).  Their three homes have been lost, my Grandma/Aunt Bren's home, Uncle Joey's home and Uncle Paul's home.    We are so grateful they survived this tragic event and thank you for your continued prayers.  Thank you to all who have donated whether it be time, items, or funds.

Here is the Rescue story from my Grandma:
Very Early in the morning of 8/20/16 my Grandma was awakened by one of her children telling her she had to get up that the water was coming into Uncle Joey's house (where they were all staying thinking they would be safe). When she got out of the bed there was a few inches in the house.  With in minutes there was a couple feet of water. They put her on the tailgate of the truck to stay dry.  The road was flooded and they saw two women (angels) with a canoe walking in the water.   These extremely nice ladies put Grandma in the canoe and Aunt Brenda walked with the women beside it.  At one point Aunt Brenda went under the boat, she is fine but it was a completely terrifying experience.  An air boat approached and they hopped on and were dropped off to dry land and brought to a staging area to get on a bus.  Aunt Brenda and Grandma were separated from Uncle Joey and Uncle Paul.  They ended up finding each other to the great relief of everyone.  They were taken to the Celtic shelter in Baton Rouge and put in one of the pet friendly sound stages.  They had GiGi with them their  little puppy. There was an extremely nice lady (another angel) that took care of them.  She asked them if they would like to go stay at a church and they all said yes.  The church (more wonderful angels) that took them in, Family of Faith Southern Baptist Church, treated them like their own family.  I will never be able to thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. My Grandma tells the story much better and knows more details that I do, but I think you get what took place.  Angels were watching over them and still are.

I'm asking everyone to please help if you  can. No one had flood insurance. Thank you very much and God Bless!
