Aid for the Mitchell Family

Hello friends,

I am writing to you to ask for help on behalf of someone I know who has fallen on some hard times in the last few months and is in dire need of some financial relief.  I have never done anything like this before but I feel compelled to do so  because I know that those of you know Mike Mitchell even by sight would want to help if you knew the situation. Mike Mitchell works for LPP and he is the guy that you have undoubtedly seen around the properties stacking wood, shoveling,plowing, etc with a smile on his face always willing to help in any way he can. Even if you have never seen Mike, rest assured you have benefited from his hard work. When you drive up on a snowy Friday night and your walkway is clear, MIke is the guy that was responsible. I could go on and on about all of the things that Mike does for all of us who live at a condo managed by LPP.

The last few months have been very hard on Mike and his family. Mike is a proud father of five young children. Around the holidays his son Tabor, who is five, fell ill and lost a lot of weight. He spent the better part of two months in the hospital in NH and has been in Children's Hospital in Boston for the past thirty days. The doctors still have not figured out what the issue is. Mike's wife has been in Boston at the hospital with Tabor while also taking care of their six month child forcing the family to be apart. While all of this has been going on Mike has been doing his best to hold down the fort in Vermont by continuing to work as well as taking care of their other three children.

Two weeks ago the unimaginable happened. Mike himself was diagnosed with cancer of the urethra and is now looking at treatment options for his illness. He is going back and forth to Boston and we are all praying that it has not spread. Needless to say Mike now can no longer work to provide for his family. He is on unemployment but it is not nearly enough to pay for his family's basic needs such as rent, food and gas. I spent a long time with Mike yesterday and I could see the stress and worry on his face. We want to  raise as much money as we can to help Mike and his family so that Mike can concentrate on getting well and being there for his son. 

I do work with Mike at Lincoln Peak but I am writing to you as a homeowner and friend and asking all of you if you are so inclined to help someone that could really use it. Mike is one of the nicest, kindest, hardest working people I know and this simply is not fair. I am also reaching out to all of my family and friends and I hope that now that  you have heard Mike's story maybe you would be willing to help as well. He is a very proud man and we had to convince him  to let us do this.  Every little bit will help. Most of us have never had to rely on the kindness of strangers and hopefully we never will but right now Mike and his family have no other choice. Please share this with everyone you know.
