Steun mij in mijn avontuur naar de Adaptive Crossfit Games

I'm Des and I'm super excited to share that I have the opportunity to compete in the Adaptive Crossfit Games in Texas! (Sept. 19-22, 2024)

When I was 10 years old, I became paralyzed on my left side due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Thanks to a new adaptive category at the Crossfit Games, I finally have the opportunity to participate in this fantastic sporting event. A dream come true!

I fall into the Major Neuromuscular division and I am determined to push my limits and show what is possible, despite my disability. However, to make my way to 'The Games', I need some financial support. The costs for all medical adjustments, coach, participation in the event, travel (domestic flight in America. Coincidentally, I will already be in Orlando around that time) and accommodation are very high, and that is why I need your help.

Every donation, large or small, brings me one step closer to my goal. Together we can show that boundaries are there to be pushed!

If I happen to collect more money then needed to compete, I'll donate the remainder to the Kidney Foundation. As my mother and I are both kindey patients and more funding for research is very much needed. So either way, your donation will be well spend for a good cause!

Ik ben Des en ben enorm enthousiast om te delen dat ik de kans heb om deel te nemen aan de Adaptive Crossfit Games in Texas! Door een hersenbloeding ben ik toen ik 10 jaar oud was linkszijdig verlamd geraakt. Dankzij een nieuwe adaptive categorie bij de Crossfit Games, heb ik eindelijk de mogelijkheid om mee te doen aan dit fantastische sportevenement. Een droom die uitkomt!

Ik val in de divisie Major Neuromuscular en ik ben vastberaden om mijn grenzen te verleggen en te laten zien wat mogelijk is, ondanks mijn beperking. Om mijn weg naar 'The Games' te realiseren, heb ik echter wat financiële steun nodig. De kosten voor alle medische aanpassingen, coach, deelname aan het evenement, reis (binnenlandse vlucht in Amerika. Toevallig ben ik rond die tijd al in Orlando) en verblijf zijn erg hoog, en daarom heb ik jouw hulp nodig.

Elke donatie, groot of klein, brengt mij een stap dichter bij mijn doel. Samen kunnen we laten zien dat grenzen er zijn om verlegd te worden!

Mocht ik meer geld inzamelen dan nodig is om mee te doen, dan doneer ik het restant aan de Nierstichting. Omdat mijn moeder en ik allebei nierpatiënten zijn en er meer financiering voor onderzoek nodig is. Hoe het ook zij, jouw donatie komt goed terecht voor een goed doel!
