Dian Kabaria's Peru tour 2024

Hello, my name is Dian Kabaria and I am currently in year 10. I will be participating in a life-changing opportunity to join Camps International on a 4- week expedition to Peru in July 2024. Camps International is a social enterprise which runs educational and impactful expeditions for school groups. They own and operate camps in rural areas throughout many different countries.

This project will help support rural and indigenous communities in Peru to improve their living standards, with a view to make a measurable difference to some of the poorest regions in Peru, helping tackle critical issues such as education and sanitation; some of the things we take for granted.

I will be doing activities that are designed to provide sustainable long-term support to the people of Peru. I will explore some of the most spectacular destinations such as Machu Picchu, experience a variety of cultures in traditional camps, and make a meaningful, lasting impact on the places I visit. I want to say goodbye to my comfort zone and take one giant leap to try and help those in need.

To make it to Peru, I need to raise 4,780 pounds. I have been fundraising for a year and am doing very well!

I have partaking in several fundraising activities such as selling sweets treats at various events including over the festive Christmas period!. The first challenge was the Leighton Buzzard Junior Triathlon on the 15th of July 2023. A huge commitment to complete a 300m swim, 5600m bike ride and a 2400m run. This shaped me into a new person as it required a lot of discipline and motivation.

So much so, that I will be completing another junior triathlon on May 12th. a little harder now- 400m swim, 5000m bike ride and a 3000m run!

I never realised that I would get such a life-changing opportunity at such a young age. I would appreciate all the funds and donations you put forward to support me.

My fundraising continues as I have selling lots of treats at school and also participating in lots of weekend market stall events!
