The Dietrich-Goodwin Medical Fund

Chris Dietrich, a valued member of the arts community in Media, Pa. and beyond, Marie Goodwin, active in the gift economy and transition movement, and their family are in need of our help.

On November 4th, while commuting home from work, a deer jumped out in front of Chris, and he struck it with his motorcycle. Both Chris and the deer skidded across the pavement and slid to a stop under a guard rail. A passerby called paramedics and Chris was rushed to the hospital where he underwent several life saving surgeries, including reconstruction of his right wrist and forearm.

Chris, a self-employed graphic designer, husband, and homeschooling father of two, is just beginning the slow process of rehabilitation and recovery. He has a great deal of work to do to recover the full use of his dominant hand. During his recovery, Chris, the primary income earner for his family, will have limited income opportunities coupled with significant medical bills.

As difficult as this is for them to ask, Chris and Marie need our help. This money will be used to help pay for his medical bills, support their family and allow Chris the time and peace of mind he needs to recover.
