Disabled Campfire Family Facing Eviction

This fundraiser is to help my parents Michael and Crystal Erickson; survivors of the 2018 Paradise Camp Fire. Michael and Crystal were residents of paradise for the past 30 years where they raised their 4 children together. In 2015 the local news paper where Michael worked closed its doors ending Michael’s career working maintenance on the printing press. Following that Crystal suffered a series of strokes between 2015 and 2018 due to a congenital heart defect which has left her disabled. These circumstances lead to Crystal and Michael losing the home they owned in paradise. They settled in a nearby mobile home community in the heart of paradise where they suffered through the fire. They lived through unimaginable fear and agony as they saw their entire world for the past 30 years burn down.

Following the fire Michael and Crystal moved into FEMA housing. Where they have been moved from one camp to camp the most recent of which is not ADA compliant. On September 10th the last FEMA camp available to them will be closed and they will be forced to the streets. They are facing a dire situation and we are asking for help. We are hoping to raise funds to secure ADA-compliant senior low income housing in red bluff for them. We are also hoping to raise funds to get them a handicapped accessible van. My mother has been a prisoner in her life for the last few years and a handicapped accessible van would change her entire world.  Any and all help is appreciated

UPDATE: I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their generosity. The amount of support we have seen means the world. Michael and Crystal have left FEMA housing and were able to stay off the street during this transition due to donations we have received. We are still working on finding them long term housing and transportation and we will post updates as soon as we have more to share. Thank you all so much.
