Nearly 10 years ago we set out upon an experiment with some founding principles: generosity, time, space, rigour and integrity.

Did we know where we were going or exactly what we were doing?

No -

Did we know why ? YES - for the love of it all - The wild, rewarding and substantial experience of this wonderful space that has allowed us the privilege to collaborate and witness the making of art, exhibiting art and mostly the sharing the love of art guided by quality and generosity.

I am eternally indebted to my late husband, Igor Jocic for his unwavering support, love and genius designs that form the foundation of our identity and the core of my strength.

This next phase in our journey is thrilling and a testament to both of us trusting that to provide this space and time would define us and itself. To abandon the commercial and focus on the quality and needs of artists has proven to be the best compass, but the cost of running the space still need to be met -

We we are asking for donations to help Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop continue its mission and enable its programmes to keep generously providing fulfilling experiences for all. 

Since being founded in 2015,

Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop has evolved into a generous organisation that supports a diverse range of emerging and mid-career contemporary Artists, by providing them with space and time to develop their practices and showcase their talents to the public.

In our remarkable near 10 years we have supported hundred of artists with space, time, support, exhibitions and residencies.

Keeping Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop running is no small task.  With your help we believe that we can achieve this again! In the spirit of generosity, we are appealing for your support in raising £50,000 to sustain our future programmes.

Our core motivation is to provide Artists and members of the public the opportunity to come together through our exhibitions, events and residency programmes. We have a long-established record of success and we’d love to build upon this.

Exhibition Programme

Solo Residency: 1 Artist, twice a year. 3 months studio space, plus an individual solo exhibition

Radical Residency®: 10 Artists, once a year. 1 month studio space, plus a curated group exhibition
