Hi, my name is Zsuzsanna and I'm here to ask for your help as a loving daughter. My sweet & caring Mother, who spent her life helping severely ill children and their families as a therapist and a teacher - has fallen victim to an unimaginable crime. All her accounts were wiped clean by a fraud caller, who masqueraded as a representative of her bank. She lost ALL her savings of 10+ years, her retirement funds & every penny she had in the bank, including her money to buy medicine or groceries.
This is my first fundraiser and I am here with the pure intention of restoring her faith in humanity and helping her recover from this incredible loss. She is the best mom anyone can wish for - always trusting, loving, and assumes the best about everyone she meets.
These wonderful traits led her to lose so much - I hope to give her more back than what I can spare because she helped SO MANY people in her life and career, always eager to help anyone in need. As the daughter of the only teacher in their village in the countryside of Hungary, she always had the calling to teach the weak & the poor.
Eva Maria, my wonderful mother left her school teacher job when I was about 7 years old, to teach severely ill children who were hospitalized for a long time & help them pass their school exams. She also discovered how a child's illness often broke the entire family - so she got a second degree as a family therapist and integrated the family healing sessions into her daily job.
Our holidays were often spent with several extra plates on the table - she brought those children home from the hospital, whose families lived too far away or couldn't afford to take them home & provide the special care they needed. Beautiful friendships of my childhood were formed with those kids, who could use every bit of fun, laughter, and warmth that a cold hospital ward couldn't provide...but they had her, cheering them on every day. I did not mind sharing my Mom's attention with them - often watching her working her magic at hospital beds of immobilized children.
After we lost my dad, she managed to get back on her feet, paying off a big mortgage and working two jobs to build a safe & peaceful retirement season in her life. And that is what was taken from her in an instant on a Monday morning. When she called me, she was absolutely devastated. She said she would never be able to recover from this tragedy, she is too old and sick at the age of 75 to start rebuilding everything again. I want to make sure her last years are spent in the comfort & with the dignity that she deserves - and give just a LITTLE bit back of the goodness she provided to the world for many decades.
We will be absolutely grateful for even the smallest amount you can spare to express your compassion to a wonderful old lady who, like so many other victims, has lost everything because she believed someone was a truthful & good person.
Please share this post if you feel called to it - every gesture means the world to both of us. Thank you so much for your consideration!
