Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
Help support these two young ladies with their goal to get to Czech Republic. They will be playing in the 1st ever Team USA Woman's U20 Ball Hockey Team in Prerov, Czech Republic in June of this year. They will be competing against other countries for the Gold Medal in this tournament " 2018 World Cup".
Abigail and Haylie Drew are going to be 16 yrs old in June. They are both honor students in the 10th grade, play on their High School Ice Hockey team and have made records in Track & Field as well. They volunteer when they have available time, and had their first summer job last summer as Camp Counselors at our Summer Day Camp Program, they worked 40 hour weeks all summer long. They got the passion and love for the sport of hockey from their older brother Craig who played hockey while they were growing up. They have been playing ball hockey since they were in Elementary School. They played at a local rink in Massachusetts and learned many things from many coaches and referees there. Whom we will mention at a later time. They joined travel tournament teams from the age of 9 to present day. A few years ago they were approached by some Memebers of the UWBHF & Womans USA Team to participate in a tournament to bring and spread the word of young girls into the sport of hockey, UWBHF (United Womans Ball Hockey Foundation ) Abby and Haylie had just turned 13 at the time, and played in that tournament with woman upto 3x their age. They had such a fantastic time playing with present and former TEAM USA players and regular woman who love the sport of hockey. They knew then, they wanted on this TEAM USA once they were old enough. Over the past 3 years, Abby and Haylie have played with these woman and many others for several tournaments throughout MA and PA.
This past October, we were approched to have the girls be evaluated for the 1st ever USA Womans U20 team. We as parents we were hesitant knowing this would cost a lot of money and take a lot of time preparing for this event. We were asked to let them be evalauated at the Oktoberfest Tournament and see what we think from that point. Throughout the weekend we got a lot of feed back and compliments on them from bystanders. Then the tournamnet came, both girls Abby and Haylie played for two teams in that tournament A & B Divsions.....they played with all their heart that weekend. One team they were on ended up winning the Championship that weekend. Abby received MVP of the game. Haylie however fractured her left ankle, which put her out for several weeks of no playing. Which was during her High School Soccer season as well. She has recovered and is so ready for this adventure. We got notification back in December that the girls were chosen for TEAM USA U20 and we were all exstactic, with tears of delight in their eyes!!! Of course as parents we want to make this once in a lifetime adventure come true for them and us as well. We plan on going with them to the Czech Republic and not missing a moment of this event. By being a part of this team comes finances, Team fees, Passports, Airfare, travelling for practices around and out of New England, etc. We have deadlines for payments and reservations all due way before we travel in June. With your support of donating to us and sharing this page with friends, family and co-workers we hope to get there. Abby and Haylie will definately be going, we are hoping to get enough support to help us as parents go as well. Any questions, please email [email redacted]. I will keep everone posted as we move on in this adventure. Abby & Haylie have a few tournaments to participate in before we travel abroad.
I hope some of you can come out and watch a game or two at one of these tournaments. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for taking the time to read and share this fundraiser for us.
THANK YOU AGAIN,
Mike, Jen, Abigail & Haylie Drew
