Dual Triathlon for Lingen Davies
We are attempting to do 2 triathlons in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer centre in Shrewsbury
One of our beloved team members sadly lost her absolute sensation of a mother recently. Wendy had treatment at The Lingen Davies Centre, they helped, supported and loved her throughout her journey.
The appeal supports victims of cancer, undergoing treatment. Offering essential and valued counselling as well a raising awareness to the early symptoms and causes of cancer.
Nothing would make us happier than to honor Wendy's memory and take on a challenge.
Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty and dangers that this pandemic has blessed us with, our original plan of an international cycle tour will not go ahead this year. We apologise for the change but we hope you can understand.
HOWEVER, we still wanted to earn our generous donations, and hopefully raise some more! We are going to take the plunge and enter our first TRIATHLON! But we wanted to go that extra mile (literally) and have signed up for 2 of them!! On 2 consecutive weekends- 29th Aug & 5th Sept 2021.
They are both Olympic distance races (1500m open water swim, 40km bike and 10k run). We have got the cycling part nailed- but the other bits are going to be painful.
We want to thank everyone who has generously donated to our cause, it means the world to us and everyone at Lingen Davies Cancer Centre. We have already raised an amazing £528.41. The money is going towards projects focusing on the prevention and detection of cancer, enhancing local services and helping patients adjust to life after cancer.
We appreciate you taking the time to read our post, stay tuned to follow our journey!
