Scrubs for NHS staff: East London
Donation protected
Local NHS staff across Newham and East London need your help.
We are a group of volunteers from East London who are raising money to make scrubs for our local NHS frontline staff. We are supporting NHS staff living locally and those working in Newham University Hospital, NHS Nightingale at Excel, Royal London in Whitechapel as well as other hospitals, NHS and care facilities in East London.
There is currently a shortage of scrubs across the health service due to Covid19 with more medical staff wearing them than usual (such as doctors and consultants on the non frontline wards and GP surgeries) as they step in to treat affected or suspected Covid19 patients. We hope that by setting up our own community garment making hubs we can make a difference little by little for our local NHS workers.
We are working within the strict guidelines of the lockdown and are asking for donations to cover the cost of materials (fabric, elastic, waist tape etc) and the cost of transport/delivery.
We are a network of local volunteers who are working as quickly as we can to get much-needed clothing to the medical staff. Let's come together to help the people on the front line who are working 24/7 to keep up all safe.

More info about the scrubs shortage and our fundraiser:
There is currently a shortage in some areas and we are hoping that by setting up our own community garment making hubs we can make a difference little by little for our local NHS staff. The scrubs are made to order by experienced and professional volunteers, working safely (and rather magically) within the guidelines of the lockdown. Each hub asks for a donation per uniform when orders are placed to cover material and delivery.
Through this fund, we will be proudly donating to help support the NHS Practitioners' health service. They help care for and support the mental well-being of NHS workers, who are doing such an amazing and selfless job of looking after us all during this time.
