Elechi's Pre-med Atlantis Fellowship Project

My name is Elechi Egwuekwe. I am a first-year Bio-Chemistry major at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have wanted to be a doctor since the sixth grade and with a current 3.7 GPA I am well on my way!
I was recently accepted into the Atlantis Fellowship Program. In this fellowship, I will shadow doctors in Genoa, Italy for three weeks, from May 11th to May 31st. In this incredible opportunity, I will learn first hand from different doctors from different specialties, working with various patients with various real life conditions. At the same time, I will also be teaching English to other healthcare workers.
The program costs $5500, not including plane tickets and other expenses. I used my savings from my summer job where I worked as a receptionist at my dentist's office to pay the deposit. My family is also helping. However, I still need about $2500 by the payment deadline of April 11, 2019.
I created this GoFundMe to help reach my goal. No gift is too small. Every single donation is appreciated.
When I graduate from Xavier in 2022, I will go on to medical school and become a pediatrician. This international opportunity will help me develop the kind of world perspective that my parents have always encouraged in me and bring that to my medical career.
