Huni Kuin Emergency Medical Support

An indigenous tribe called Huni Kuin living in a remote village named Sao Vincente. In a sacred place where the lush greenery embraces simple huts, and the sounds of nature, music & laughter play a symphony that echoes. However, sadness has spread to the Huni Kuin as illness is sweeping through the Sao Vincente community.

For generations, the Huni Kuin people have thrived on their deep connection to the land & ancient customs. But Currently a mysterious illness has descended upon the community, striking both the young & old. Causing death to 3 babies this last month, and many more people are becoming sick .

The village's healers have been doing everything they can with the resources available. However, the illness is unfamiliar, and people are getting sick very fast. They need support for preventative medicine and medicine to treat those who are currently suffering illness.

Organizations express a desire to help, yet reaching the village deep in the jungle poses enormous challenges. Currently a major challenge is the rain. During the rainy season the village struggles to hunt and fish, putting additional stress on the men and their families. Helicopters are needed to transport doctors, medical teams, aid and emergency care as effectively and quickly as possible.
