Emily Richardson Gerken's Medical $

Emily is the daughter of Linda Stobaugh Reynolds (one of my closest friends) and Larry Richardson (who was like the brother I never had, in high school, and passed away several years ago). So, I really wanted to do something to help out. You might want to do something, too.
From Emily's FaceBook post, 10/22/16:
"So I think it's time I come out with it... I don't like to share my business on FB, but I also want to be honest about my reality. Please understand I do not share the following for pity, it's only because this is my new journey and I need to be open about it. In February I was diagnosed with a rare form of liver disease called Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) which has now caused some cirrhosis. We have no idea how I got it, and for now, there is no cure. I've probably spent more time at doctors and in the hospital this year than my house. I am blessed with a wonderful job with a wonderful company who has allowed me to go on disability for the foreseeable future. I have amazing doctors and specialists that are making sure we are doing everything possible to fight this like a girl! lol I have a wonderful support system from my family to my friends who all make sure I have everything I need. In August my big brother Kyle moved in with us to help Grant Gerken take care of me. I can't drive and I have to use a walker to get around so, as you can imagine, I require a lot of assistance lol Grant is still working 60-70 hr wks on top of all this. He is a saint. I have faith and trust in our God that he will get me through this. Thank you to everyone that has reached out to show your concern. Life is good and I am blessed. I'm way too strong to let this dull my sparkle! If you are interested in my day to day...which I have no idea why you would be lol...I am journaling my battle on Instagram @emilyrobyn22. I love you all and thank you for all your prayers and concern. #day271"
Emily is only 35 years old but she IS a survivor and trusts the Lord for His will to be done! However, high hospital bills are a crisis for all of us and the costs associated with transplants are astronomical. Sometimes "it takes a village"! Please, help us raise money to help Emily and Grant with these costs. Your prayers for her complete healing are coveted. It would mean so much to me, her mom, Linda, and of course, Emily and Grant. Thank you! Bless you!
this is a link to a video (at the bottom of the page) of my specialist discussing and explaining Emily's disease. It's about 7 minutes. It's a very misunderstood disease and I can't explain it as well as he does:
