My Sister, Surviving Brain Tumour
Donation protected
My name is Emily Glaze. I am appealing for my twin sister Emma Glaze. Emma is 22 years old and has a little son. She has recently been diagnosed with quite a rare brain tumour. She was diagnosed 5 days before her son, masons 3rd birthday which was 10days before christmas day. After being rushed up to new cross hospital she waited 3 days before being transferred to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital to have more tests. Her operation was due to be masons birthday but was cancelled so she came home for just over a week then returned to the Queen Elizabeth for her Life Saving Surgery. Her operation was tricky as doctors had to go in through the front of her skull and unhook connection in her brain to get to the third ventricle in the centre of her brain. Her tumour was blocking CF fluid flowing through the brain and if nothing was done she could have slipped into a coma. The Surgery lasted 5 hours. The Doctors removed what they could but couldnt remove all of it because it would have been too dangerous due to its position. She is still in quite alot of pain and having headaches. It is unsure what can be done next. She is unable to return to work yet as she still hasnt recovered and is still having pain. I am just appealing to try and raise enough money to pay their rent and bills as it has took them weeks to try and get help off authorities and is causing more stress for them. Her partner has recently started a new job last week and hopes to get them back on their feet. It has been a horrendous last 2 months and such a scary time. We all had a very worrying christmas and new year, we just hope we have some good luck soon.
