Empowering Compassion, Making Good Food!

Hi, plant-loving community, It’s Makini from Plum, my family and I have been strategizing for some years now on how to bring you good folks a grocery store offering of some of our star players like our fried chicken Seitan and our Jamaican spice tofu or the Maple Glazed Holiday Roast, and Nana’s Cornbread Stuffing, from our once a year holiday selections, the Mac and Yease (yes I said what I said… Mac and Yease in your grocery store!) and a variety of our most popular tofus, Seitan's, dips and sauces (think those rich creamy sauces that come on the macho burrito or as a side on the fries, yum…). I am excited to announce we have found a way to bring all of these delicious things to your neighborhood grocery store
I am raising funds for my startup, Makini’s Kitchen it's a manufacturing plant where we will produce for grocery stores and online ordering all of the afore mentioned delicious proteins, sides, dips and sauces. I have been working on Makini's Kitchen since my father passed away in 2021 and have made great strides. I have found an amazing facility right in Georgetown and the location could not be more perfect, in one of the best old industrial neighborhoods in Seattle. The building is currently under construction and we even have plans for an onsite no cost daycare to working mothers The daycare is one of my favorite parts of the whole startup. I have raised the majority of funds needed for this start up, and I still have a bit more to raise.
I have come up with what I think is a cool way to do an ask like this, I would like for you to use your donation as a pre order for any of our offering once we are up and running, which is projected to be spring of 2024. You can donate at any level you like, I am grateful for the community engagement and love on every level. You can also donate either $250.00 or $125.00 and pre order you box of goodies. Tax and shipping will be included in the pre-order donation. These pre-orders will help me meet my fundraising goal of $250,000. One of the most exciting things about this startup is we get to make tofu from the soybean, so in addition to all of those delicious things we are making tofu! This $250,000. Is the last leg of my capital raise, these funds will go towards purchasing a mothership of a tofu-making machine for the Makini's Kitchen.
As a thank-you gift with each pre-ordered box of goodies that ships, I will include a signed copy of my forthcoming cookbook, Simple Goodness it’s loaded with yummy recipes and delicious meal suggestions.
