Eric Watson Fund

Early Saturday morning November 1, 2014 during our firsr snow, Eric Watson had a hunting incident. He fell backwards from a tree stand catching his legs in straps, leaving him dangling upside down. He yelled for help hoping someone would hear him. The community scrambled to find the unknown voice coming from the woods. Eric was found on the north side of Big Walker Mountain hanging about 30 feet up a tree. Several Firefighters, EMS, REMSI, the Sheriff's Dept. and VA Dept of Game and Fisheries responded to rescue him. It took a Special Operations Rope Team to get Eric down who had been hanging for several hours in low 30 degree temperature.

Eric has been and will be in the hospital undergoing medical treatment for Hypothermia to his body and Compartmental Syndrome to his legs. He has undergone 4 surgeries in the past 6 days and will undergo more in the future for the extensive trauma to his body. Eric has a great team of physicians looking afrer him for his medical needs. thus medical bills will be adding up.

Even with the best health insurance, medical expenses are off the chart. Eric is a single father of two beautiful girls and the time off work will be financially hard on them, causing undue stress trying to pay for growing medical bills. It's going to take time for Eric's body to fully heal from his injuries and is looking at an unknown amout of medical needs in the future.

No amount is too small, every bit will help the Watson family. Eric is a loving, outgoing, caring and giving man. He has been there for his community, church, family and friends and now we can be there for Eric during this tough time. ALL of the funds raised go directly to Eric to help with the financial needs of growing bills.
