Henry & Cayden head to the European Baseball Championships
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Henry Cheyne and Cayden Allen - and we are raising funds to help us play in the European Baseball Championships this summer as part of British 18U National Team.
Baseball has been our passion since we were 4 years old and started t-ball together. Growing up in North Vancouver, we played on the same team in Lynn Valley Little League for 8 years, proudly representing the community on various select teams. After Little League, we played together in the North Shore Baseball League before joining the North Shore Twins (Cayden) and Coquitlam Reds (Henry) for the last few years.
We both have dual Canadian and British citizenship - and this year we have both been lucky enough to be selected to the Team GB 18U National Team. The team will train in the UK at the start of July before travelling to Regensburg, Germany to participate in the European Championships from July 8-14, 2024. The tournament includes 7 games in 7 days against other European nations. The goal is to win the tournament to gain points in the World Rankings. The final goal is to participate in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us and we are very excited to go and represent Britain with a Canadian twist!
Unfortunately this comes with a large price tag and there is no funding available through Team GB (only the U23 and the Senior National team are funded). This means we must cover all travel expenses ourselves to attend the training and tournament at a cost of $5000 each. Funds raised through GoFundMe will be used directly to help cover the costs of our participation. Thank you for for your support!
