Your donations to this fund will honor Evan Garnett, by creating scholarships, equipment grants and helping to support programs for the young students he loved to mentor.
Evan grew up in Davie, Florida, a graduate of Western High School, a leading member of their FTC and FRC Robotics teams, the "Wired Cats". He went on to attend the University of Central Florida, as a honor student, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His love for robotics found an outlet through the many clubs he supported, both on and off-campus, and he discovered a talent for mentoring by sharing his STEM knowledge with a local Orlando high school robotics team.
Many have written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. Evan was a true friend, always there with a laugh or to lend a helping hand. Evan was genuine, the purest of heart, loved his family and all its traditions, but also dreamed of his robotic footprint in space.
In his memory, opportunities will be created for students interested in STEM, particularly in the area of robotics.
Thank you so much for sharing in the continuation of Evan's legacy.

Evan4Stem,
Thank you again for your support and sponsorship of MECO Robotics last season. Your contributions have made a world of difference. This year–because of you–we were able to afford the swerve drive (a brand new technology for us), our mechanical team is completely student led from design to CAD to construction, and we have a new scouting and strategy team.
Because we have been able to learn so much, we are now able to pay it forward and create new friendships and networks. Our students video chatted with a team from Belize to brainstorm, help them with programming, and provide social media advice. The team also invited a rookie team to our build space to practice on our field, help with robot construction, and give advice for this competition season.
It is through your support and generous donation that these students are able to participate and grow in these life changing skills that will benefit them no matter the field of study they go into.
MECO’s students have been tackling this season’s game, Crescendo, with enthusiasm and determination. Our robot, “Delta V”, has a swerve drive, can be programmed to drive itself, collects Notes (large orange foam rings), and places or shoots the Notes into receptacles to earn points. We will be participating in competitions in Tallahassee (March 15-16) and then the following week in Orlando (March 22-23).
