Sophie's Expedition To The Gambia 2023

Hello!

My name is Sophie, and I’m fundraising for an expedition to The Gambia in the summer of 2023. I will be helping with reptile and turtle conservation, learning the history of the slave trade and working on a community project to build accommodation for local healthcare workers.

To raise the money to be able to go on this adventure, I will be doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-mile round trip route and includes 1585m of ascent. I will be climbing the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, which I aim to do in under 12 hours!

On the 23rd of April, I will take on the White Horse Challenge: cycling around 90 miles through Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire with about 1400 metres of climbing.
