Help Otis Fennell Recover
Donation protected
Otis Fennell can typically be found regaling locals and tourists alike on the corner of Frenchmen outside his store, FAB, the oldest gay and lesbian independent bookshop in the South. In August, Otis had a diabetic episode that landed him the ICU and has been hospitalized for over a month. We are hopeful for a full recovery, but he will need intensive physical therapy and skilled nursing care upon his discharge. Sadly, he won't be on Frenchmen for a bit and we need help getting him the care he needs and keeping FAB afloat in his absence.
Otis has always given to his community with an open heart and endless passion. As an executive for economic development, his progressive arts- focused approach welcomed the creative classes to New Orleans. As an avid AIDS activist, he was instrumental in getting the NOAIDS task force started. Most recently, he has brought joy to the Marigny while sustaining an LGBT landmark. With all that Otis has given, I hope we can all give some back when he needs it most.
Please help by donating and spreading the word. Any small bit will help offset the costs of health care and rising medical expenses.
Thanks and stay FAB!
