In the early morning of November 2nd there was a 3 alarm fire on our quiet little street in Hudson. Bill and Wendy’s home tragically caught on fire. Unfortunately due to the high winds this fire spread to some of the neighboring homes resulting in multiple vehicles and homes being damaged. Bill and Wendy’s home as well as Ron and Mercie’s home were completely burned to the ground. These families lost everything they own except the clothes on their back.
Everyone involved got out unharmed except for Bill and Wendy’s son Billy. Billy was air lifted to Tampa General Hospital for severe burns. We have not heard any update on his condition at this time.
This is such a close knit community here on Driftwood Drive. During the beginning of the pandemic, if it was your birthday, these folks would stand outside and sing as a group to you. Just to insure you felt their love. Over the past 11 years the people on this street have been a huge part of my life. They have watched me go through college, get married, begin my career, and start a family. The people on Driftwood drive have been there for my family though good and not so good times. We aren’t just neighbors anymore, we are family and we would do anything for each other! This tragic event has effected 4 families on our quiet street and we would greatly appreciate any and all help. All donations will be given directly to these families to help them with insurance deductibles, repairs, medical bills, and rebuilding not only their homes but their lives.
If you are uncomfortable with donating to this go fund me but would like to help, gift cards to purchase new clothing and household goods would be appreciated.
