Fundraising for a family in Palestine
Asalamualaykum,
The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
I have come across a woman from Gaza, Palestine on Facebook. She has four young, hungry children and her husband suffers from being completely deaf in both ears.
This lady’s husband used to work at a local cafe where they managed meagrely. But since covid19 started, all public places have been shutdown in Gaza and through humanitarian aid, this family just scraped through. The only problem they are now facing is eviction due to not being able to pay rent for over 5 months which has now accumulated to £500, where rent is £100 per month. This is why she has desperately gone on Facebook and has requested help.
A friend of hers from the US set up a fundraising page but unfortunately Facebook have closed this page due to a report of fraudulent claims.
After reading this lady’s post on Facebook, I went ahead and privately messaged her and added her as my friend. I asked all detective questions I knew. She gave me her pictures and videos of her family. I even video called her, unannounced, to see for myself. I donated a small amount to her and she told me she received her money and continued to update me every time she got her money when my husband and children donated to her, which she didn’t have to do. She then took pictures of the food she bought with the money and sent it to me. She has not asked me at all on how much she wants or even for more amounts. She has only been telling me to share her now closed, Facebook link for donations. From my experience of helping people, they tend to ask, ask and ask for more. But this lady has not asked me for anymore money despite me giving her only a small amount.
I have decided to continue helping this lady and her family by donating regularly to her now, indefinitely until things improve for her. But, in the meantime, this lady still needs up to £700 to cover her rent debts of £500, urgently, and to let her continue to stay longer at her home for at least another two months. If more money is raised, then In Shaa Allah she can continue to live there until covid19 has eased and her husband can work again. Unfortunately, I do not have this large amount of money to give this lady to help her not become homeless and this is why I have set up this gofundme page. Whatever money I will be personally donating, will be enough for their food and essentials.
Please, find it in your heart to not ignore this lady’s plea and please help give even a small amount to help this family from being on the streets. You will all be helping one family and for this, Allah will reward you In Shaa Allah. I understand this covid19 has not helped any of us with our financial situations and we need financial help ourselves, but please, dig deep into your pockets and your hearts and you might find some loose change to donate. Every small amount makes a difference and remember that giving charity does not decrease wealth. If you cannot donate then please make dua for them too as that is also important. May Allah bless you all for your donations and duas and may He make things better for this family, Ameen❤️.
Ps.. below is the lady’s plea, that caught my eye on Facebook
alsalam ealaykum .. I live in Gaza, Palestine. I have 4 children. My husband is deaf and does not speak, hear or work. We live a painful life in Gaza. We live in hell. We wish death from hard life. I live a painful life with my children. I hope you can help my young children buy food and clothes for my children. And buy milk and nappies for my little son, please help me. Since we have been living in a house for rent for 7 years and the owner of the house will evict us because I have not been able to pay the rent for the house for several months ... I hope you will help my poor children .. My children are very sad about the painful life here in Gaza ...
I'm from Palestine . Gaza ..
All I hope is to pay the rent of the house that has accumulated on me. And buy food, milk, pampers, and clothes for my kids. Where I can live freely and comfortably with my poor children. All I need is your support. Donate to bring joy into the hearts of my poor children
