Fat Cat Cafe-Here to Stay!
Donation protected
The Fat Cat Cafe opened in August of 2017 and has to date 174 adoptions with many more to come. Fat Cat holds art classes, movie nights, live jazz music, art shows and many other events for the community. They also feature a small boutique with locally made products supporting our local artists and artisans.
Fat Cat Cafe’ has been so successful and has been a wonderful experience, however it soon found out the financial challenges of a cat cafe and therefore is in need of teaming up with a non- profit to continue its mission.
A cat cafe is not a big money maker and it was discovered that it can be a lot of rescue work. In fact the founders and employees preferred being able to continue to rescue while also running the cafe. Many lives have been saved.
However, the operation alone does not bring in enough to cover rent, electric, payroll for employees to run it, and do all the rescuing. In order to keep the cafe/rescue continuing it was decided to switch to a non profit status so fundraising can take place to continue the efforts.
Feline Advocates of Leon County is a new non-profit animal rescue in the Big Bend area and will be raising money to switch the corporation over to our ownership and continue its mission.
We need 3000.00 to secure the lease and another 5000 to get a jump start on paying off vet bills and making sure we can pay rent for the next few months.
Help us keep Fat Cat Cafe going!!
If you donate, you can receive rewards that entitle you to free entries, free tshirts, VIP status, free tickets to fundraising events and so much more.
