Seed joy and playfulness all over Leeds this Autumn

Do you want to help grow some fun and playfulness across Leeds this autumn? Yes of course you do!

Between 25th October and 3rd November we're holding a city wide festival of play and creativity. And we need YOUR help.

Seeds of fun, joy and mischief. Let's get creative!

We know the people of Leeds are full of dreamers, doers, mischief makers and instigators of fun. We'd really love this first festival to help us find them and seed fund people to create a moment of magic right where they live or work.

Your help, your networks could help us spark fun, around the city.

Ideally we'd raise at least £100 per ward postcode to distribute to people right across the city. to create a bit of fun right on the doorstep, at the park, or to play along the way...

Background

At the beginning of 2024 a group of people passionate about play and art, got together to see if there was an appetite for more playfulness in Leeds, across the city.

We knew there were lots of people doing awesome stuff already and wanted to see if there was an appetite for a community of playful spirits. It appears that there is, as after 3 meet ups over 100 people had joined in. So many great ideas, from tiny buds, to big blossoms. And we were only just getting started...

As a result we decided, come what may, on a shoestring, we'd invite as many people as possible in the city to join in putting on a Festival of Play and Creativity together, for all ages in 2024.

Your donation will also support the daily fun in the City Centre Playful Information Kiosk which will have something FREE on every day for all ages to enjoy a trip into town. If you come see us having made your donation you'll get a little play pack to take away and enjoy too.

We'll use this Kiosk to let the city know about all the wonderful things happening across the city.

All Playful Angel Investors will get a special little gift as a thank you when you present yourselves and do a silly walk or wiggle.

Who are we?

The organising team currently consist of Playful Anywhere CIC, LS14 Trust, Leeds Libraries, Armley Action Team, freelancers, play activists, community development specialists, people who work for large city based organisations, and lots of daft silly sausages.
