Support Annie Wood's Battle Against Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

We are reaching out on behalf of Annie Wood, a loving mother, daughter, and caregiver who is facing an incredibly challenging time. Recently, Annie made the selfless decision to move in with her elderly father, along with her daughter, Melissa, to ensure he gets the care he needs. However, life took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn when Annie was recently and unexpectedly diagnosed with small cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer that has metastasized to her spine.

Annie is now in a fight for her life, and she’s doing it without the safety net of health insurance. The attempt to apply for Medicaid fell short since open enrollment is not until November. As you can imagine, the costs associated with her treatment are overwhelming. The chemotherapy, radiation, medications, and the care needed to manage her condition are all necessary, but they come with a hefty price tag.

As Annie focuses on her health, caring for herself as well as her ability to care for her father has been significantly impacted. The stress of managing day-to-day needs, along with the financial burden of medical bills, is a challenge no one should face alone.

We have set a goal of $10,000 to help cover Annie’s medical expenses and provide support for her family during this difficult time. The funds raised will go directly towards: covering costs of treatment, medications, and any necessary procedures; supporting Annie, her father, and family as they navigate this difficult period; and providing pre-cooked meals and gift cards for food delivery services to help ease the daily burden on Annie and her family.

In addition to financial contributions, we are also seeking donations of pre-cooked dinners that can be stored in the freezer with heating instructions and easily thrown in the oven to cook. Even gift cards for DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub would be extremely helpful. If you are able to help in this way, please reach out to Melissa or John to schedule a time for those to be picked up and delivered. We created an email address which can be used to send electronic gift cards that will go directly to Annie and her family.

Annie has always been there for her family, friends, and colleagues, offering care, love, and support whenever it was needed. Now, she needs our help. Your generosity, whether through donations, meal assistance, or simply sharing this campaign, will make a world of difference in her battle against cancer.
