Fight for Clayton: Stage IV Cancer - Donate Today!

Donation protected
Clayton's journey began in November 2021 when he was diagnosed with cancer at 23. What started as a routine dental visit became a life-altering event when the dentist discovered a tumor in his jaw. The rapid growth of the tumor necessitated an extensive 11-hour surgery to remove a portion of Clayton's jaw just months before his upcoming wedding to his childhood sweetheart, Holly.

Following the surgery, Clayton was scheduled to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. However, their plans to get married had to be put on hold until he fully recovered from the treatment. Just when they thought they were making progress, a follow-up PET scan in June 2022 revealed that Clayton's cancer had metastasized. Multiple tumors were found throughout his body, including his lungs, vertebrae, ribs, pubis, and hip bones.

Devastatingly, Clayton was told that his cancer was incurable and that doctors could only offer palliative care at this point. However, Clayton and Holly were not ready to accept this grim prognosis. They sought a second opinion at MD Anderson in Houston, TX, praying for a glimmer of hope.

After undergoing multiple tests at MD Anderson, Clayton received a shocking revelation. It turned out that his initial cancer diagnosis was misdiagnosed. He did not have the type of cancer he had been treated for all along. Instead, Clayton was diagnosed with Stage 4 Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS) of the bone.

With this new information, Clayton and Holly relocate to Houston in July 2022 while Clayton embarked on another round of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The hope was that this targeted approach would finally halt the aggressive growth and spread of his cancer. But despite their best efforts, the tumors continued to grow unabated.

At this point, the medical team presented Clayton with one last option - immunotherapy. This innovative treatment approach held promise but came at a significant financial cost. Clayton and Holly could no longer afford to stay in Houston on a full time basis so they have been traveling back and forth every 9 weeks since Sept. 2022. The expenses associated with these appointments have placed an enormous strain on Clayton and Holly.

As they navigate through this challenging time, Clayton's family and friends have come together to create this fundraiser. The goal is to alleviate some of the financial stress that this young couple is facing so that they can focus solely on Clayton's treatment and well-being. The funds raised will cover travel expenses to MD Anderson, medical bills, and any other unforeseen costs that may arise during Clayton's fight against cancer.

Your contribution, whether by donating or spreading the word about Clayton's fight, will make a significant difference in their lives. In addition to financial contributions, your words of encouragement and prayers are also greatly appreciated. They serve as a reminder to Clayton and Holly that they are not alone in this battle. Each act of kindness brings hope and shows them that people are rallying behind them, cheering them on every step of the way.
