Nellie's Stroke Recovery Journey & her kids basic needs.

This is my life long friend, Nellie.
Last Friday morning, Nellie was on her way to open the The Old Milwaukee Club and work. Upon arrival, Nellie was unresponsive. After ambulance and helicopter transports to St. Cloud, it was determined Nellie had a major stroke. Surgeons found numerous clots and discovered a hole in her heart.
Nellie is the best mom to FIVE kiddos. The youngest just celebrating his first birthday the previous week, with his twin 9 year old siblings. (Nellie's second & third to youngest children). Survival odds after a stroke this massive have not been in Nellie's favor. So far, she is defying these odds. Doing things the doctors said she would never do. There are still a lot of unknowns in her future and it will be a long road to recovery.
The adult children have had to make a lot of life changing decisions, experiencing tons of BIG emotions, and Nellie needs them now more than ever. In the same breathe, her kids need her!
Nellie remains heavily sedated and is being monitored closely. I KNOW SHE has a lot of fight left in her!! We want to ensure she is comfortable WHEN SHE DOES get to go home, that her kids are getting all their needs met while she is in the ICU, and the bills are not the biggest worry, instead focusing on recovering. Thank you for reading this, sharing Nellie's story, and loving my friend. She is one of the most loyal, strong willed, and selfless humans I know. #nelliestrong
Sharing, helping, and prayers will support Nellie and her caring team that's behind her!
