Water Filters for Puerto Rico
Donation protected
Puerto Rico
is going through its worst time in modern history. Hurricane Maria completely devastated the island, leaving millions without power, running water or food.
We are trying to help address the need for clean water by getting as many Filters onto the island by next weekend. A single filter can help as many as 100 people. Filter life is one million gallons.
Shannon and I have purchased filters already but
our goal is to get at least 150 additonal filters from fund raising. There are water sources there (springs, rivers, rain water collection) but it needs to be filtered in order to be safe for drinking.
We are hopeful that conditions will improve quickly but recovery will take time. Having multiple sources for clean drinking water in the area will undoubtedly help bring some relief to the area. Please chip in and help us maximize the number of filters for Puerto Rico.
The filters are light weight and will be part of other sources of aid that will be transported on Saturday 10/7.

UPDATE: Increasing the goal amount! You guys are very generous. I hope to take as many filters as possible.
UPDATE2: First round of filters have been ordered!
UPDATE 10/16: 650 filters have been delivered. Another 600 on their way.
UPDATE 10/27: 550 filters and 200 buckets got a free ride from Florida today via Agape Flights. Thank you Owen (Finca Plenitud) for making those arrangements!
UPDATE 11/15: 300 more filters have been ordered and will be in Aguadilla by Saturday. Thank you for your continued support.
You can find more detailed updates in the upper right tab (Update (##).
Thank you!
