Honoring Adam Finseth with a Memorial Snowboard
Donation protected
Adam Finseth was killed in the line of duty on February 18, 2024, while serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Burnsville, MN Fire and Police Departments. Left to carry on his memory are his wife and two young children, who not only lost their father, but the lifetime of memories they had yet to create with him.
Adam is being memorialized in many places, all representing his service, sacrifice and line of duty death. This project involves memorializing Adam and the way he lived.
On New Year’s Eve 2023, Adam’s children wrapped up a weekend of snowboarding lessons at Hyland Hills Ski Area, where they quickly fell in love with the sport their dad enjoyed for many years. To celebrate with them, Adam dusted off his very own snowboard and hit the slopes with the kids and their friends. It was the one and only time the kids ever got to snowboard with their dad.
On the day he was killed, Adam once again had big plans to snowboard with his children and their friends at Hyland Hills, and perhaps no one was more excited than he was. But those memories in the making were ripped from his hands just 12 hours before he could make them.
Help us create a special memorial for Adam, in the Chalet at Hyland Hills Ski Area. Local artist Shane Anderson is working with the Finseth children to design and paint a custom snowboard in memory of their dad. It will be mounted near the entrance of the Chalet. And there, it will remind his children and all who visit, of the incredible way Adam lived, and loved, his life.
Funds will help pay for the artist’s supplies, he’s donating his time and talents, not asking for anything in return, so we’d like to help him pay for the paint and refinishing supplies he’ll need. Any additional funds will be used to create a duplicate vinyl wrap and custom board for each of Adam’s children to use next year, and keep forever.
Thank you!
