First Indian man's quest to Adventurer’s Grandslam

Donation protected
My name is Anmish Varma. I am a three-time world martial arts champion representing India and an adventure mountaineer from Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

I am asking for support from friends and fellow countrymen in raising funds to help become the first Indian man to achieve the “Adventure's Grand Slam” title after completing my final conquest to the North Pole in April.

The Adventurer's Grand Slam is achieved by skiing to the North Pole and the South Pole and climbing the Seven Summits (Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, and Puncak Jaya or Kosciuszko) across seven continents. By doing so I would like to inspire many adventure seekers to believe in their potential and expand their reach!

I am all geared up physically and mentally for the final North Pole challenge and received all the required permits to explore my final conquest. However, it is not just all the preparedness and belief in myself that gets me there. It requires a significant amount of financial resources in terms of licenses, insurance, travel, gear, and everything else to make this common man’s dream a reality. It takes $100,000 altogether for this final conquest. I have explored all the avenues possible so far to channel these funds and secured around $20,000 from family, government, and corporate sponsors, who believed in me and have supported me so far.

So I kindly request you to support me achieve this goal, by generously contributing to the cause and spreading the message to your friends who are interested in being a part of this incredible journey.

My Journey

I came from a military family where my dad served as a BSF agent north of the Indian border. Throughout my childhood, I fell in love with mixed martial arts and I am fortunate enough to represent India at multiple international venues and won 3 gold medals.

Also having grown up in a coastal mountainous town, I have an affinity towards mountains right from a very young age. As a kid, I used to wander off to the mountains alone while my friends were playing at home. Mountains were my playground. Climbing them would give me a deep sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I have carried my passion throughout my adult years and climbed the tallest Mountain in the world, The Everest in 2021. While climbing Everest, our team met with extreme weather and was put in a perilous condition where my sherpa was running out of oxygen and was incapacitated. I have used all the strength that I can gather and carried him down to Camp 4 to save his life. It was an unforgettable experience that taught me life lessons. I strongly believe that taking care of your fellow men and women should be our basic obligation. Hence I made sure that my Sherpa was saved first and only then did I resume my expedition back and proudly raise the Indian flag at the top of Mt. Everest !!

From there I went on climbing all the tallest peaks in all seven continents and completed the Seven Summits challenge. My curiosity and passion didn’t stop there. I went on exploring more and skied to the South Pole in 2022. I am all geared up now to explore my final conquest of the North Pole.

I thank you all for your love and support in my journey towards the Adventurer's Grandslam. May god bless you and your family for your kind gesture. Jai Hind !!
